Dr. Bar is an amazing doctor and has become our friend. When you’re inviting someone into your home, especially a doctor, you want them to have exceptional bedside manners. And Dr. Bar does and she’s wonderful with my daughter making each check up is such a pleasure. Dr. Bar cares about the whole health of your child. She’s given me great advise about nutrition, bathing and calmed my new mom nerves. We highly recommend her and hope that you’ll have the opportunity to have your child under Dr. Bar’s care!

Dr. Bar has been seeing our daughter since she was an infant. Our daughter is now 10 and we would not think of taking her to any other doctor. Dr. Bar cares, and it shows. She always listens to our concerns and gives us the best care and treatment. We would not trust our daughter’s health to just any one, and Dr Bar is not just any one. She’s warm, friendly and always a human first, and a doctor second. Another thing we like about Dr. Bar. She never rushes us out of the office, and always spends quality time with us. My goal is to provide an affordable alternative to expensive emergency room care for parents and their children. And at the same time, ensure that the children receive the same quality care they would from their primary care pediatrician. “Make you best Call a House Call”

Last Year, Iman Bar found herself unexpectedly on call. The pediatrician, who operaters a clinic on Costa Mesa’s Westside, was at the birthday party of one of her children’s friends when a boy fell in the back yard and suffered a nasty cut to his head. The family was ready to drive him to the hospital, but as fate would have it, Dr. Bar had her emergency kit in the car and mended the wound promptly.

From that moment came a business idea. Dr. Bar, who has seen patients at her Harbor Boulevard office since 2000, began making house calls shortly after the party – and a year later, she still has her phone on her 24/7, ready for a summons.

“I thought, ‘I would like to serve my community by providing service in their homes, rather than have them wait in the ER,’” said Dr. Bar, a native Egyptian who moved to the United States in 1990.

Now, Dr. Bar’s business, Newport Concierge Pediatrics, extends across a five-mile redius around her residence in Newport Beach. She only gets one or two calls in a typical week, but she’s primed for almost any urgent care – including cuts, burns, bee stings, ear infections, and even advice on child care for nervous first-time parents.

Given her background, Dr. Bar isn’t overwhelmed by much. She worked as a pediatrician in Egypt before crossing the Atlantic to earn her doctorate at Emory University in Georgia. At one point, she said, she treated the prince of Kuwait when the royal family fled to Egypt during the Gulf War in 1990.

The experience reminded Dr. Bar – who now lives in Corona Del Mar – how all patients become alike in the doctor’s office.

“He we a prince who, like anyone else, had an ear infection,” she said.
